Hello,
Frederikke here, I am passionate about providing therapy to helping professionals.
Maybe you want to know my approach to therapy, what my credentials are and gauge if I am a person you can feel safe with before making contact.
This is your intake, too—feel free to ask more questions than what is answered here:
I am a master’s-qualified narrative therapist and registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I am orientated towards depth therapy and meaning-making, which is a term often used in narrative therapy.
I am interested in people’s inner worlds and dreams—yes, literally the dreams you have, but I also have an interest in and views on what evidence-based therapy is.
My Grad. Dip. in psychology, makes me inclined to read journal articles about what people want from therapy, and meta-analyses about what provides better outcomes in therapy.
I offer therapy to helpers. I know the sector well and have seen what resources, love and dedication people bring to the helping profession. I have seen how the personal and professional sometimes intersect and create problems in living, in love and work as helpers navigate their own grief, loss and trauma as well as that which comes with helping work and advocacy.
With a background in management and work in the sector, I also understand helping and helpers from a different vantage point.
My therapeutic offer is not run-of-the-mill, with a high through-put of people every week. I keep space between appointments for clients privacy and my own longevity. I usually see people weekly.
Therapy with depth needs space, resources and rest. I also hold another role that I value and love in an organisation, and this may come up if you research me. It is separate to my work here.
Over to you now…
Sincerely,
Frederikke Jensen
